Ventures.
A directory of what Inspire Synergy has built. Software at the studio moves through three stages — lab, venture, spinoff — and the eighteen years of prior work sit at the bottom as chapters.
The ladder
Lab → Venture → Spinoff.
Most things we build start small. A few graduate. The labels below explain what each stage means in practice.
- 01 Lab
Small software the studio is building or has built — quantitative tools, automation systems, research infrastructure. Light, exploratory, often deployable into client contexts as a sturdier-than-POC engagement.
- 02 Venture
A lab piece that has matured into a real business with customers and revenue. Operated inside Inspire Synergy as a dedicated practice.
- 03 Spinoff
A venture that has outgrown the studio and graduated into its own cap table — separate brand, separate balance sheet, with Inspire Synergy as parent shareholder.

Lab Solutions
A growing set of lab-grade software the studio has built — quantitative infrastructure, automation systems, research tooling. By introduction, we deploy these into client contexts as a sturdier alternative to a typical proof-of-concept. Not turnkey; we set up, you operate. Lab solutions that mature past studio scale graduate up the ladder.
Ventures
Operating now.
- 2021 — Active
Quantitative Research
A multi-year research partnership with an institutional asset manager. Systematic signal generation and engineering at scale. Bilateral, governed by NDA.
- 2026 — Building
Stealth venture
A new software venture in early build. We announce it the day it can take a customer.
Spinoffs
Graduated.
- Spun out Spinoff
Next Ads ↗
A Hong Kong adtech platform for transparent, real-time booking of outdoor, transit, digital screens, and online media — built inside the Inspire Synergy umbrella, now operating independently as a stand-alone company.
Goal for the next three years: at least one more spinoff into its own cap table.
Chapters
What came before.
- Vol. I2008 — 2013
Digital marketing & e-commerce
Inspire Synergy began as a Google AdWords Certified Partner running paid-media campaigns and SEM training for Hong Kong businesses. The company was admitted to Hong Kong Science Park’s incubation programme — the incubation project itself became Cartforge, our hosted e-commerce platform — and later remained at the park as a tenant. Over the next five years it shipped a small portfolio of software products under the umbrella, including Cartforge, Inspiroid (an analytics SaaS for online merchants), RailsAnt (a Rails consulting practice), CubicApp, and several smaller experiments.
- Vol. II2014 — 2020
Enterprise content management
The company pivoted to enterprise software, becoming a reseller and systems integrator for document management and OCR products — ABBYY, Hyland OnBase, SharePoint, Topaz. The customer list was small and institutional; the work was profitable and never publicly marketed.
- Vol. III2021 — 2025
The quiet years
Public-facing operations wound down. Inspire Synergy continued to exist as the legal vehicle for a multi-year quantitative research engagement with an institutional asset manager. Nothing was advertised; almost nothing was said.
A note on this list
We list current work by name; we summarise prior work by era. A full enumeration of every product Inspire Synergy has shipped over eighteen years would be longer than it would be useful — and a few of those products are no longer ours to talk about in detail.
Where a past venture matters to a current conversation, we are happy to share more privately.
